Monabarie Tea Estate: Largest in Asia

Located in the Biswanath District of Assam, Monabarie Tea Estate claims the title of being the largest tea estate in all of Asia. McLeod Russel India Limited, a part of the Williamson Magor Group, is the proud owner of this renowned tea estate.

Having been established in 1869, McLeod Russel India Limited has garnered global recognition as the largest tea-growing company. Their extensive operations encompass a total of 31 tea estates within the state.

Monabarie Tea Estate covers an extensive land area of 1367.38 hectares, with nearly 1158 hectares dedicated solely to tea plantations. The estate employs approximately 2718 individuals, and they boast an annual production capacity of around 2,791,239 kilograms. The tea produced at this estate is of the 100% CTC variety and displays a vibrant reddish color.
